The TRUTH is that we don’t know what happens, other than what the mainstream media tells us. The TRUTH is that the mainstream media is not an impartial reporter of facts. The TRUTH is that the mainstream media has an agenda, which is selling papers, airtime, etc. The TRUTH is, in this culture of Social Media, we are beginning to drink the media KoolAid as if it were Holy Water blessed by Christ Himself.
The TRUTH is that ALL of THE Law Enforcement Officers in this land have taken an Oath to protect and serve the people they represent. The TRUTH is that an overwhelming majority of those Law Enforcement Officers risk their very lives every day in a kind, impartial, and professional manner.
The TRUTH is that they are us, selected from among us, to protect us. They represent us! This is not an “us or them” situation. We are they, and they are us!
The TRUTH is that we, the citizens of this great nation, have Laws for a reason. We legislate, by proxy, what we will and will not tolerate. We do not enforce the Law ourselves, but rather, we select from among us those who are willing to go forth and enforce on our behalf. We owe those men and women our unwavering support, because they are there BECAUSE of us.
The TRUTH is, something stinks. Really, really, bad. It is a foul stench emanating from the bowels of this country. The source seems to be an insignificant, intentionally ignorant and, uninvolved microscopic population of malcontents the majority of which seem to subsist chiefly from illegal behavior or from the Government tit. Their screeching, moaning, rioting, and absolutely shameful behavior is analogous to nothing more than a gigantic Social Fart. It stinks, it is offensive, and is of utterly no value!
Just as in any other social situation, if someone commits an offense, you have an opportunity. You can;
  1. stand around and quietly sniff it while secretly hoping for another.
  2. whoop, holler, and celebrate loudly by yelling, “oh man, that was a good one!”
  3. publicly condemn the behavior then shun the source.
The real problem here is the large portion of our population that choose option 1. Let’s refer to them as Fart Sniffers. Fart Sniffers exist. Don’t believe me? Next time you are with a group of people, announce loudly, “I farted”. Now, disregard the ones that celebrate because they are pigs. Disregard the ones that condemn and walk away. Pay attention instead to those that linger. Listen carefully for the telltale whooshing sound as they fill their lungs hoping to validate the validity of your claim. Watch for the flaring of the nostrils. Found one? Watch then, for their reaction. They will choose either option 1, or 2. See, I told you, Fart Sniffers exist. Obama is a Fart Sniffer.
The media chooses option 2. They do that of course, because it has the effect of inciting others to join in. It sells newspapers. It sells airtime. It drives numbers, which drives profits. Remember they have an agenda. Politicians and race baiters also choose option 2.
I choose option 3. I will not stand around sniffing or celebrating. The behavior exhibited, especially of late, is utterly appalling. It has to stop. We better make it stop.

<![CDATA[Plastic Craftsman]]>Wed, 22 Apr 2015 16:46:56 GMThttp://www.shootlogic.com/tommy-judys-blog/plastic-craftsmanPicture
I have owned, literally, a footlocker full of holsters over the years. From cheap nylon to the finest leather available. I have carried a handgun for the majority of my life, and gained some insight into what works, and doesn't work, for me. I have found three attributes that are a necessity:

Comfort - a holster needs to be constructed in such a manner that I can wear it all day with minimal discomfort. Notice I said minimal? Carrying a gun is going to cause some discomfort, one way or another.

Security – my gun should remain securely in place should I decide to do a handstand, a “Hondo roll”, or even (God forbid) run.

Durability – It needs to last, I don’t want to buy a new one every few years.

I have come to realize I don't need (dare i say it) leather. Kydex seems to fit the bill better. It's less expensive rigid, and impervious to moisture and oils.

What about pretty? I don’t need pretty because I carry concealed. I carry concealed because my handgun is my last ditch defense tool. That is my “ace in the hole”, so to speak. A pretty holster isn't necessary because no one will ever see it, until I need it.

What about protecting the finish on my gun? My guns are tools. I take care of my tools, and I use them. Guns carried daily will get scratched, dinged, and worn. Guns I tend to baby and don’t want scratched don’t get carried.

Enter Keith Lunsford……

Keith Lunsford operates Shoot-N-Back Firearms in St. George, about ¾ mile North of town just off of Hwy 15. Keith is a one man show with a modest Inventory, a warm smile, firm handshake, and a genuine sincerity I really like. Keith also makes some of the finest Kydex holsters I have ever seen. What makes his Kydex unique among the multitude of “garage cobblers” slapping Acrylic Polyvinyl Chloride Sheets together? Keith. He is an original, and his approach makes him unique…He cares. No preformed sheets, generic molds, or cookie cutter templates. He even makes his own unique belt loops in house. Every holster is handmade and formed specifically to your gun, in your choice of color. If it’s not right by his standards, he will simply toss it and start over. Nothing leaves his shop until he himself is satisfied with the result.

Keith has made several holsters and a knife sheath for me. The knife sheath was the first thing he made for me, and I got to sit and watch the entire process. I quickly understood why everyone isn't making holsters. I asked Keith to make a holster for a 2 ½ inch K frame revolver which turned out wonderfully. Another, and my personal favorite, was a holster for my Custom S&W 1911. I presented Keith with a sketch of a concept, and he reluctantly agreed to make it, grumbling about it being “ugly” or something. The result, however, was the best holster I have ever owned and which he refers to as “the Bastard”. Turns out, it’s everything I wanted in a holster and, its good looking to boot! Who Knew?

I consider Keith a true craftsman because of the skillful care and attention he devotes to his choice of media, and the finished product. Give Keith a call at 843-446-5215 or, go see him at his shop. Check out some of the finished holsters waiting to be picked up and judge for yourself. If you’re lucky, you might just get to watch him work while he chats with customers.

<![CDATA[The responsibility of being a man.]]>Sun, 08 Dec 2013 14:15:02 GMThttp://www.shootlogic.com/tommy-judys-blog/the-responsibility-of-being-a-man Ever give any thought to the fact that no matter where you are, people see you? Several days ago, a friend and I stopped at Bojangles in Summerville for lunch. After we began eating, an older gentleman got up from his seat across the room and made his way over. He smiled, put his hand on my shoulder, and said, “it’s nice to see two men, who are obviously men, take time to give thanks and ask the Lord to bless the meal”. He continued to smile as he walked away. I was speechless…..and humbled.

I always ask the Lords blessing before I eat, whether alone or with company, and did so that day. Its habit, but the idea that someone would, or could, see has never entered my mind. The gentleman’s words have really caused me to think. How many other people have noticed? How many young men have noticed? How many times have I eaten in public while in uniform? And, a more troubling thought, has anyone ever noticed when I didn’t ask the blessing?

Recently, my son Evan turned 13. He had a dozen or so of his friends and nearly that many family members on hand as we got ready to eat. As I prepared to ask the blessing, he interrupted and asked to do the honors. What followed, delivered in absolute sincerity, was a prayer as well spoken and meaningful as any I’ve ever heard! Phil Robertson, the Duck Commander himself, would have been proud! I was moved nearly to tears! A friend, and father of one of Evans friends, turned to me with a look of astonishment. He couldn’t believe a 13 year old delivered that prayer. I wish I could take credit, but, I cannot. I do my best, but fall short far more often than I care to admit. Fortunately, because of friends and family, Evan is surrounded by other men not afraid to be men.

My point here is simple. We learn by seeing, thus, we become teachers to those that observe us. We are unwitting role models, planting seeds with every word and every action. You cannot opt out. None of us are perfect; being human, we will all make mistakes. As men, we have the ability to teach those around us how men should behave. And when we make a mistake, we have the ability to teach a better lesson…..how to take responsibility! You will teach young men what to become. You will teach young women what to expect. That’s important. That’s responsibility. Be a Man!
